SUMMER VACAY

After a super busy year, it's time for some fun, sun and relaxation!

Nadine, my mom, currently lives in a picturesque village called Wraysbury, situated on the east bank of the River Thames.

I try to fly out to the UK to visit my mother once or twice a year. Most of the time, I make it for Christmas, but in recent years I've been coming during the summer as well. It strikes me how different the holiday feels - winter days are short, bedtimes early, waking up takes a bit more effort. In summer, days feel like they last forever! With the sun rising at 5 am and setting after 9pm, you get so much out of your time that a week-long trip feels a lot longer than it is because so much has happened!

Anyway, this year, we've combined our England visit with A trip to Germany to stay with Ruth, my mother-in-law.

She lives in Buchholz, Germany ... which I'll be documenting in a separate blog post, so stay tuned!
